Sign-changing solutions on a kind of fourth-order Neumann boundary value problem

In this paper, we consider the fourth-order Neumann boundary value problem u(4)(t)−2u^″(t)+u(t)=f(t,u(t)) for all t∈[0,1] and subject to u^′(0)=u^′(1)=u^?(0)=u^?(1)=0. Using the fixed point index and the critical group, we establish the existence theorem of solutions that guarantees the problem has at least one positive solution and two sign-changing solutions under certain conditions.     

A function space model approach to the rational evaluation subgroups

Let f : U → X be a map from a connected nilpotent space U to a connected rational space X. The evaluation subgroup G _*(U, X; f), which is a generalization of the Gottlieb group of X, is investigated. The key device for the study is an explicit Sullivan model for the connected component containing f of the function space of maps from U to X, which is derived from the general theory of such a model due to Brown and Szczarba (Trans Am Math Soc 349, 4931–4951, 1997). In particular, we show that non Gottlieb elements are detected by analyzing a Sullivan model for the map f and by looking at non-triviality of higher order Whitehead products in the homotopy group of X. The Gottlieb triviality of a fibration in the sense of Lupton and Smith (The evaluation subgroup of a fibre inclusion, 2006) is also discussed from the function space model point of view. Moreover, we proceed to consideration of the evaluation subgroup of the fundamental group of a nilpotent space. In consequence, the first Gottlieb group of the total space of each S ¹-bundle over the n-dimensional torus is determined explicitly in the non-rational case.      

On Group Connectivity of Graphs

Tutte conjectured that every 4-edge-connected graph admits a nowhere-zero Z ₃-flow and Jaeger et al. [Group connectivity of graphs–a nonhomogeneous analogue of nowhere-zero flow properties, J. Combin. Theory Ser. B 56 (1992) 165-182] further conjectured that every 5-edge-connected graph is Z ₃-connected. These two conjectures are in general open and few results are known so far. A weaker version of Tutte’s conjecture states that every 4-edge-connected graph with each edge contained in a circuit of length at most 3 admits a nowhere-zero Z ₃-flow. Devos proposed a stronger version problem by asking if every such graph is Z ₃-connected. In this paper, we first answer this later question in negative and get an infinite family of such graphs which are not Z ₃-connected. Moreover, motivated by these graphs, we prove that every 6-edge-connected graph whose edge set is an edge disjoint union of circuits of length at most 3 is Z ₃-connected. Elementary equivalence for the lattices of subalgebras and automorphism groups of free algebras

We find an elementary equivalence criterion for the lattices of subalgebras of free algebras in regular varieties. The question is addressed of elementary equivalence for the automorphism groups of algebras of this type.

设Λ是特征不整除n的域k上的二元外代数,■是Λ的Zn-Galois覆盖代数.首先构造了■的极小投射双模分解,并由此清晰地计算了■的各阶Hochschild同调和上同调群的维数;并且在域的特征为零时,计算了■的循环同调群的维数.     

Absolute continuity of Wasserstein geodesics in the Heisenberg group

In this paper we answer to a question raised by Ambrosio and Rigot [L. Ambrosio, S. Rigot, Optimal mass transportation in the Heisenberg group, J. Funct. Anal. 208 (2) (2004) 261-301] proving that any interior point of a Wasserstein geodesic in the Heisenberg group is absolutely continuous if one of the end-points is. Since our proof relies on the validity of the so-called Measure Contraction Property and on the fact that the optimal transport map exists and the Wasserstein geodesic is unique, the absolute continuity of Wasserstein geodesic also holds for Alexandrov spaces with curvature bounded from below.     

Selective monotetrahydropyranylation of symmetrical diols using P_20_5/Si0_2 under solvent-free conditions and their depyranylation

Selective protection of one of the hydroxyl group in 1,n-symmetrical diols is achieved by P_2O_2/SiO_2-catalyzed reaction of the diol with dihydropyran under solvent-free conditions at room temperature.This selective protection is simple and it occurred under economically cheap conditions in high yield.The deprotected diol is simply obtained by refluxing of this compound in methanol using the same catalyst without any byproduct formation or additional purifications.     

线性中立型单延迟系统李代数稳定性判据

研究了线性中立型单延迟微分系统的稳定性.从矩阵李代数可解性角度,推导出新的简单的延迟独立稳定性判据.该新判据的重要意义和优越性在于首次突破了以往大多数相关文献的稳定性判据在应用上受条件‖C‖<1,ρ(|C|)<1或ρ(|N|)<1的限制,从而首次成功确定了在‖C‖≥,ρ(|C|)≥1和ρ(|N|)≥1的情形下中立型延迟微分系统渐近稳定性.最后,通过两个例子显示了新判据的优越性.     

Bang-bang control suppression of amplitude damping in a three-level atom

By using quantum bang-bang control technique, we studied the suppression of amplitude damping, or energy dissipation, in a three-level atom in various configurations. We have explicitly given the bang-bang control groups in three different configurations, and the pulse sequences for these bang-bang control operations. Some geometric and dynamical properties of the Urysohn space

This is a survey article about the geometry and dynamical properties of the Urysohn space. Most of the results presented here are part of the author's Ph.D. thesis and were published in the articles [J. Melleray, Stabilizers of closed sets in the Urysohn space, Fund. Math. 189 (1) (2006) 53-60; J. Melleray, Compact metrizable groups are isometry groups of compact metric spaces, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 136 (4) (2008) 1451; J. Melleray, On the geometry of Urysohn's universal metric space, Topology Appl. 154 (2007) 384-403]; a few results are new, most notably the fact that Iso(U) is not divisible.
